CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA: New Flights to Points West!
Southwest Airlines Announces Daily, Non-Stop Service to Charleston from Denver and St. Louis
CHARLESTON, SC (January 5, 2017) – Southwest Airlines today announced that it will begin daily non-stop service to Denver from Charleston International Airport. This highly anticipated service had initially been tested as a Saturday-only flight, but overwhelming interest led to Southwest’s decision to make this a daily flight for the summer season beginning June 4. In addition, Southwest will begin offering twice weekly service to St. Louis, a new destination city for Charleston. Thanks to the success of its three daily flights to Baltimore, Southwest is adding a fourth flight over the summer months to meet anticipated demand, and is also adding an additional Saturday and Sunday flight to Nashville.
“All of this is fantastic news,” remarked Dan Blumenstock, Immediate Past Chairman of the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and Director of Hotel Operations for Lowcountry Hotels. “Our growing reputation as a visitor destination and our dynamic economy are generating increased leisure and business travel from established and new destination markets.β
